Launching a blog in 2022 is a simple process. All you would like is maybe a domain to shop for, Bluehost to host your blog (affiliate link), and install WordPress. It’s set.

Yet, gaining organic traffic on Google may be a lengthy process. It can take you around 8–12 months to start out seeing regular traffic on your blog so you’ll monetize it with AdSense.

So if your blog is new, it is often challenging.

That said, many of us have this question in our mind — what the way to get traffic initially if your blog is new?

I know many bloggers have this common answer — Use social media platforms like Facebook to urge traffic from the beginning.

But what most of them don’t tell us is — How?

I can relate because I faced it too.

When I was first getting conversant in blogging, I had most of my time spent finding how to realize initial traction to my blog which I did.

I’ll share two ways of getting initial traffic to your blog which I used once I was active with my blog.

Join as many Facebook groups as you’ll

When I was doing a part of my research, I found that creating a Facebook page helps your blog reach a bigger audience. So I created one for my blog. But what I didn’t know was the way to get followers and likes on my Facebook page.

I tried Facebook advertisements where I ran ads for one among my posts. It reached an honest number of individuals and a few of them did convert to my blog visitors. But running ads was the short-term solution. I can’t run ads whenever to realize traffic.

So I explored alternative ways to urge followers and organic reach on my Facebook page with no advertisements. a method that I found helped me to realize organic reach that I learned from a digital marketing expert.

As the title suggests, join as many Facebook groups as you’ll. But all must relate to your blog’s niche and will move. Share your blog articles on these groups but don’t spam them. Keep it simple. One or two post links during a day. Engage with other people’s posts and like, comment, and share them.

Once you are doing that, you’ll increase your blog’s traffic and your Facebook page’s followers count.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a Facebook page, you’ll directly share the link in those groups.

Use Twitter as your traffic weapon

You’ll be surprised when I’ll tell you that though I used to be actively sharing my post links on Facebook groups, a serious part of the traffic I received was from Twitter.

Don’t take Twitter as an area to tweet only. It is often quite that!

But, one thing to notice here is that my posts during which I received major traffic from Twitter were trending. I once wrote a piece of writing on the iPhone SE which was at the time trending on Twitter. It received an enormous number of impressions and clicks. If I remember correctly, my blog received quite 100 visitors in one day.

So if you’re writing something that’s trending or has potential, you ought to definitely share it on Twitter. But regardless of that, I might recommend you to always share your post links on Twitter. Who knows what can go viral in seconds? But don’t forget to use hashtags!

The Takeaway

If you continue to haven’t tried the above method yet, you’re missing out tons. It is often a legit thanks to giving initial exposure to your blog. Bringing tons of traffic is often challenging once you are focused on organic reach. But leveraging social media platforms are often the simplest trick to urge that from day one.
